Tensions Between China, Taiwan, and the United States.

 Brief History Historically China has consistently ruled over Taiwan until Japan conquered China in 1895 and ruled over the island till 1945, a period of 50 years. China took control over the island after Japan lost in the Second World War. During this period, the Chinese civil war which had being fought from August 1927 to December 1949 was in an advanced stage. The civil war was fought mainly between the Koumintong led government of the Republic of China (ROC) and the main opposition, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) forces. Koumintong's party, China Nationalist Party which was then in government lost the civil war and moved to Taiwan as the main opposition and reformed another Republic of China after the CCP on mainland China had named the country the People's Republic of China (PRC).
